Tough Mudder 2015!

Do you know Shay Carl Butler?
No? He is one hell of a cool father to 5 kids and vlogs his life for now more than 5 years on YouTube. I've been watching the Shaytards for about a year now I would say and it's just so entertaining to see this heartwarming family grow. Shay himself and his siblings/sisters boyfriend ran the TOUGH MUDDER and of course - vlogged it ( check it here - amazing video). I heard about this event before but never thought about participating myself. I will link you to the US and German Version of the website below so you can make your mind ;)

For short the Tough Mudder basically is a military obstacle course on about 16-18 kilometers. Sounds rough and it will be indeed bur what fascinated me was the omnipresent teamspirit of every participant that you could even feel trough a video. I googled the Tough Mudder website and got directed to a German version. I was like 'Whaaaaaa..?' when I saw that there would be a Tough Mudder in september 2 hours away from where I used to live. I immidiately tried to form a team! Shay's experience inspired me to finally get up from my butt butt and to start training as well.
Yes this ismuddy. Yes these are wires. Source

A little bit of fire is OK right? Riiight! Source

The next days I was so pumped for the event I think I annoyed everyone around me preeeetty much :D I began to train/run and what can I say? I've been so bad...but I reaaally wanted to attend the event .
We had about 6 peeps in our team but apparently ( ;) ) everyone jumped off before we bought tickets. This was suuuuuch a letdown because I think I've been the only one to start training. Very meh. A few weeks ago I checked the website again and saw that there would be another event in 2015. This time I will attend - alone or not!

So-Thank you Shay, Casey, Logan and beautiful Carlie for letting us be part of this amazing experience you've had!
And thank YOU for reading and sharing my blog :)
See you

Jo

It's been a while!

Awkward Hello - there we gooooo...

There has been a lot happening this year! I might say 2014 had the biggest changes in my 21-year-old life (which might seem hilarious in 20+years when I re-read this). First things first:

You may remember that I've been in a trainee for 3 years and my final exams laid before me when I did the last post. Yeah. Finished that. I didn't continue the job I had and took 2 months off before I started studying Tourism Economics in a university in the north of Germany. Because...LEARNING! ;)

The way to where I am writing this from was not the easiest tbh. Turned out that the search for flats/shared flats took months and I've gotten messed around pretty bad by some landlord who pretended to let me move in and cancelled me off 3 days before I should have moved in. So there I was sitting on my packed boxes, a whining mess, and felt - I know it sounds ridiculous - homeless. At that point I just had 2 weeks left before the semester started and was panicking over finding ANYTHING to live in. In the end it went better than I could have ever expected and I found a really nice flat which I share with 2 nice roommates and slowly but surely it starts to feel somewhat like home.

I also think I really like what I am studying. It's great to deepen the knowledge I already have. Exams are in january - it seems like I can't escape the learning haha.

That pretty much explains my absence the last half year. Time flies so fast. I look forward to write more blog posts from now on, let's see how it works out.

Bye x
Jo

Spring has sprung

Hey Guys!

Time to throw your parka back in the closet - today is officially SPRING! Well at least in our calendars...
Today has been a day with absolutely gorgeous weather. 20°C in march - woah there northern Germany! Apparently the rain will be back tommorow so the day had to be seized (Carpe Diem alert)...

1st of the year! Raspberry & After-Eight

So I thought that I should take a moment to show you my most recent purchases of whom I believe are perfect for spring:

Dont mind the wood pile in the background ;)

These are  the "NICE CRAZY PATTERN LEO/ROSES" sneakers from the german brand DJINNS, which I just discovered when I had been shopping a few weeks ago. I first saw them and was like HELL YEEEEAH, even though the leo-print is usually not my game. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone for this gorgeous pair of shoes. They also have a beautiful floral print on it and the heels are leathern. Can't believe that I almost opted for a pair of plain, black sneakers instead - Where is my mind?
The DJINNS were about 60 €, which is totally fine compared to brands as VANS or Etnie, which I usually buy.

Please don't mind my photographical skills. Sun + lack of talent + Galaxy S4 = meh.
In the same shop that I bought my shoes those pair of sunglasses were hanging around waiting for me to pick he up. It was an intuitional decision - I wanted one of these kind so bad!

To finish this post of I took some rubbish pictures of flowers...because... SPRING!

Hope you liked this blogpost! Feel free to leave a comment below.
I wish you a nice day :)

Ireland, my love...

When I created my blog, i was searching through the different designs. I spotted this beautiful picture of the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland. It was out of question for me to pick this as my background.

I've first been to Ireland in 2010. It was a trip of our English class from school. Though we've only been to Dublin we have instantly fallen in love with this country. The next few years I always felt the need to come back. Due to my Abi-exams ( FYI: Abi or Abitur is the highest graduation you can earn in german schools) and my apprenticeship starting immidiately after, I never found the time (or money) to fly over.

That changed last summer.
My boyfriend and I booked hilariously cheap flights and flew over for a few days. Though our hotel, based in the central of Dublin, was... well... shite, we had a great time. I've only been to Dublin that one time in 2010, but as soon as i walked out of our hotel, I felt that i still knew this city pretty well. It was like i didn't even need to look on city maps or else to find everything I wanted to show my boyfriend. It almost felt a little bit like home (cheesy-alert!)

Here are some pictures

Me, being the stereotype tourist hanging around Temple Bar

Snapple is hard to get in Germany - always going cray whenever I find it

View of the Liffey, Dublin's river and the famous Ha'Penny Bridge

My photographing skills are the BEST =D
This is The Spire, The Needle, The Stiletto in the Ghetto...

   Why so pretty?

   Temple Bar - again....

There are so much more Dublin pics I have!! Love it there!!
But let's go on to the Cliffs of Moher.
We booked an organized bus trip and started at 7am in the morning. It turned out to be the rainiest day of our holiday. But it wasn't to bad because we stayed in the bus most of the day. Here and then our driver pulled over to give us a ridiculous amount of time to take pictures. We ran out of the bus, took 5 or 6 pictures and hopped into the bus again. After hours of driving we have finally been there - Cliffs of Moher.
If you stand at those cliffs you realize that pictures can not describe how massive they are.
As I said, we didn't have the best weather. It was cloudy, it was rainy AND windy. I've never been to a more windy place before. Our guide told us that people, who traspassed the visitors area and walked to the very edge of the cliffs, were hit over by the wind and fell 200 meters to their death.

Hello there, friend!

I feel like there is a lot more to tell and to share. If you would like to read more about Dublin or Ireland in general, write it in the comments below. If you have any questions - feel free to ask. I hope to have the right answer for you :)

So, for the moment - Slainte ( Cheers in Gaelic )

First Things First

Well this is it.

My first blog post..where to start?

Quick introduction - my name is Jo. Johanna in long form but I like the short way.
I am 20 years old and live in Germany. I am currently in an apprenticeship which i will be finishing in July this year ( fingers crossed - maybe I shoud start learning for my finals instead of starting a blog...haha..well done Jo).
I wanted to start my own blog for months but i never put myself together to create one. Procrastination is my game.
I mainly got inspired by two persons: Zoe Sugg aka Zoella & Louise Pentland aka Sprinkle Of Glitter. I found it amazing to share experiences and connect with so many people. Though their blogs are very "beauty-ish" i enjoy them eeeveeerytime.
I want to fill this blog with stuff I like/love/adore. At this time I don't want to focus on a specific topic yet. Movies, music, travels, food maybe even beauty - everything is in.

Now that I've been sitting here for roundabout 30 minutes to type this tiny text ( excuse my school english - working on it) I reaaaally hope the next post's will flow out of my hands. Kind of.

Let's see if this blog-thing works for me. I'm very, very exited at this point :)

So if you like leave a comment and follow this blog.

Cheers

Jo
